Community Supporters Care
Community Supporters care about individuals, families, and communities. Community Supporters promote the welfare of their community by providing assistance, resources, and advocacy that support individuals and families in need.
Are You a Community Supporter?
You may be a community supporter because of your professional role as someone who helps others. Or you may be a community supporter because you want to protect the vulnerable, provide resources for those in need, and make a difference for others.
Community supporters:
- Promote the wellbeing of children, families, and vulnerable populations.
- Provide resources and services to individuals and families in need to prevent abuse and neglect.
- Address racial disproportionality and disparity within welfare systems.
- Provide assistance and care to vulnerable populations, including aging and dependent adults, people with disabilities, and those facing hardships and challenges.
Supporters Strengthen Communities
Communities are strengthened when we work together to notice when an individual or family needs resources, services, and support. Community supporters can be individuals, professionals, organizations, nonprofit entities, or local governments working together to ensure the most vulnerable among us receive needed support and resources. Community supporters help create stronger, more inclusive communities.
